外來之悲,得以流注;
內藏之執,隨光而解;

That which is cracked is not ruined;
it is the gate through which the Way enters.

From the opening of the fracture,
compassion from without is able to flow in;
wisdom from without is able to moisten and nourish.
Attachments hidden within dissolve in the presence of light;
fears concealed in the depths scatter in the clarity of illumination.

This is called:
entering light through lack,
realizing interconnection through rupture,
abiding within the world,
yet awakening to the Dharma-realm.

All things bear cracks—that is where the light finds its way in.

If life were a perfectly sealed black box, light would find no place to rest. It is precisely because there are openings that compassion and wisdom from beyond can enter, and rigidity and fear from within can be released. A crack is not a sign of destruction, but an invitation to awakening. It breaks the boundary between ourselves and the world, reminding us that we are not isolated beings, but part of a vast universe, breathing in quiet communion.
